🐄🐖🐔 Circle C Farm is 100% pasture raised, grass fed and grass finished for all of their livestock, exceeding California's new laws on animal confinement. Proposition 12 is a ballot initiative passed in 2018 by California voters, prohibiting the confinement of farm animals in a cruel manner and the sale of products from such animals. Egg-laying hens, veal calves, and breeding pigs must meet certain requirements outlined in the law by January 1, 2022.🚫🐔🐖
The Animal Care Program was formed to implement Proposition 12, and it applies to covered animals and products sold in the state, regardless of where they originate. Liquid eggs and pork meat sold in California must be compliant with the confinement standards of Proposition 12, even if they are processed in an FSIS inspected plant. Compliance can be shown through written certification. 📋
Sales of liquid eggs and pork meat within California subsequent to those where possession is taken at an FSIS inspected plant are included under Proposition 12 definition of sale, so buyers intending to resell these products must also be able to show compliance. 🛒
